STEP 2 Clean the wound carefully and remove any remaining sand, dirt or impurities. At HARTMANN we recommend cleaning the wound with Lusan® physiological serum. Gently pat the wound clean and dry. If you see any signs of infection, such as redness, itching or burning, it is important that you see your doctor, or ask your pharmacist for advice. STEP 3 Disinfect the wound with an antiseptic such as povidone-iodine or chlorhexidine. STEP 4 Apply the Band-Aid® avoiding wrinkles. Make sure the center gauze is just over the wound.
