We told the volunteers that they would have to take an intelligence test, which would involve filming them. Meanwhile, they saw their own image on a monitor. We also stated that the intelligence test video would be analyzed later. Not bad? Our real goal, of course, was stress. After all, only a stressed person can say "Goodbye stress."
We measured the stress level of the test subjects before and after the stress buildup. Stress indicators are:
