Ginger essential oil is believed to have originated in India and was one of the first spices to arrive in Europe from Asia. Its beneficial properties have been appreciated throughout the centuries, having been mentioned by the Chinese philosopher Confucius, Dioscorides, and in the Quran. The Greeks and Romans also used it for its dual purpose as medicine and spice. The ancient Egyptians cultivated it and used it in their diet to prevent and control epidemics. Dioscorides recommended it to stimulate circulation.

Ginger Essential Oil has several cosmetic properties, as it is anti-inflammatory, detoxifying and tonic.
